Do You Trust Your New Shipmates?
I was kinda bemused today when I read about the hijacking of a US ship, the SS Alabama by pirates off the Somalian coast. Reason being that the ship`s captain who was taken hostage is actually a teacher at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and was apparently giving a lecture to a class about what to do in hostage situation like this. I later found out that he had offered to be taken hostage so he could save his men on the ship, one being his son, and the ship too.
Was he trying put into practice what he was preaching to his class? Hmmmm....
